Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL, seeks a licensed pharmacist to join the Clinical Pharmacy - Emergency Department. This full-time day shift position requires a Doctor of Pharmacy or B.S.

in Pharmacy with PGY-1 and/or PGY-2 training and hospital-based experience. Under supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, you will coordinate pharmacy operations, provide direct patient care, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to optimize pharmacotherapy across Medicine, ICU, Obstetrics,

Qualifications

• Current state Registered Pharmacist License.
• B.S. degree in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
• Completion of PGY-1 or > 3 years of qualifying experience required.
• Postgraduate PGY-2 training preferred; board certification preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of the pharmacy department to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care.
• Conducts 50%+ of professional time in direct patient care including rounding and counseling.
• Participates in patient care committees and collaborates on pharmacotherapy decisions.
• Direct observation and evaluation of patient needs; initiate/modify/discontinue therapy.
• Scope includes General Medicine, ICU, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, ED, Oncology, peri-operative, geriatrics, outpatient services.

Education

BS in Pharmacy

Pharmacy Doctorate preferred (PharmD)

PGY-1 completed or >3 years experience

PGY-2 preferred

Board certification in BPS clinical specialty preferred

BLS Required

ACLS Preferred

Hospital pharmacy operations experience preferred
