Minimum education is a high school diploma; training includes LINK/NCIC, NLETS, and EMT dispatching certifications within specified timelines. A strong, calm communicator is essential for safety and efficiency.

• Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
• Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in the transmission, receiving and relaying of electronic information for law enforcement, emergency medical, fire, emergency management, military communications or traffic operations will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Aufgaben

• Answer radio and telephone calls (including 911 in designated areas).
• Gather and relay pertinent information from each communication; dispatching calls to police and other emergency management personnel.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions during medical emergencies.
• Operate the Computer Aided Dispatching system (CAD).
• Familiarity with Post region
• Utilize law enforcement systems nationwide to assist troopers and detectives with investigations ranging from traffic enforcement to major crime.
