Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher responsible for receiving, evaluating, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for police and security operations. The role requires strong communication and technical skills to operate complex telecoms, alarms, and CCTV systems.

Key duties include prioritizing and dispatching calls, monitoring multiple lines and alarms, and ensuring timely response by Police, Security, and Medical teams.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service/telecommunications, military, law enforcement or security experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with additional training preferred.
• Certification such as APCO, IAHSS or related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer, evaluate, prioritize, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance to Police and Public Safety Officers.
• Monitor and process calls from a large number of lines, intercoms, and alarms.
• Monitor alarms, access control, and CCTV; stay calm during incidents to ensure appropriate response.
• May perform Public Safety Officer duties when assigned.
• Other related duties as required.
