Job summary

Responsibilities include dispatching calls, coordinating units, maintaining CJIS entries and logs, operating dispatch equipment, and ensuring security and cleanliness of the Dispatch Center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license or have access to transportation.

Responsibilities

• Receive requests for routine law enforcement service from the public and other agencies.
• Use EMD/FSD/LED certified skills to obtain information and provide verbal instructions.
• Assign calls to various county and city law enforcement units, fire departments and ambulance services.
• Receive Emergency 911 calls and texts for service and properly assign and direct the appropriate responding units.
• Maintain a radio contact with units in service.
• Coordinate the proper responding units to a given incident.
• Obtain information for CJIS entries and other databases.
• Maintain a radio and telephone log of shift activities.
• Operate dispatch equipment and software applications to access data and process requests.
• Maintain security in the Dispatch Center and monitor cameras.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the Dispatch Center.
