Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a dedicated patient care technician to support an emergency department at Greer Medical Campus. You will provide direct patient care within your scope, assist with essential nursing tasks, document vitals, manage basic specimens, and help with transport and comfort measures under supervision.

Responsibilities include data collection, basic procedures, and communication with the RN and care team to ensure timely, safe patient care in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• Education requirement as listed above.
• Experience - No experience required; preferred experience as nursing assistant, patient care tech, medical assistant, EMT, Paramedic, Surgical Tech, Phlebotomist, Medical Corpsman or nursing student.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice as directed by providers and licensed staff.
• Performs data collection including vital signs and basic sterile/ non-sterile specimens.
• Assists with positioning patients, wound care, and basic procedures as delegated.
• Documents data in medical records and informs RN of activities performed and changes in patient status.

Education

Education - Completion of a nursing assistant, patient care tech, medical assistant, EMT, Paramedic, surgical tech, phlebotomy, military medical corpsman or nursing fundamentals course
