Job summary

Crittenton Hospital Medical Center in Michigan is seeking a qualified caregiver to support direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or physician. The role includes preparing patients for exams, recording vitals, and assisting with a broad range of procedures as listed in the duties.

Qualifications

• EMT certification or nursing program clinical experience required.
• CNA with 1-2 years of ED/clinical experience acceptable.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations with RN/physician supervision.
• Record vital signs in EMR every 2 hours or as directed.
• Observe and report patient's condition; round every 30 minutes as directed.
• Perform routine throat cultures, oxygen administration, enemas, skin prep, catheterization.
• Initiate/stop IV therapy under RN guidance; apply cardiac monitor and sterile dressings.
• Assist with EKG, blood draws, specimen collection and lab ordering tasks.
• Transport patients and maintain supplies; ensure sterile fields and restraints as needed.
• Support emotional needs of patients and families; maintain patient safety.
