Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a dedicated patient care assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, including preparing and using clinical equipment and performing delegated procedures. You will assist with vital signs, specimen collection, ADLs, admissions/discharges, and documentation.

This 12-hour day shift with occasional nights may be scheduled two shifts per four weeks, with some hybrid options at the department's discretion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write.
• Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities to move and position patients.
• Progressive knowledge of methods, procedures, materials and equipment in the designated area.

Responsibilities

• Set up and monitor specialized clinical equipment.
• Obtain vital signs and report abnormal values to RN.
• Assist with admissions and discharges per unit protocol.
• Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection.
• Provide patient hygiene and activities of daily living assistance.
