Job summary

Salinas Valley Health in Salinas, CA is seeking a Staff Nurse II/III for the Emergency Department. You will assess patients, plan and coordinate care with the health team, and participate in discharge planning and teaching. Must maintain RN licensure in California and BLS/Healthcare Provider status.

The role requires a minimum of 12 months of acute care RN experience; Pharmacology and EKG testing may be required for hire. Day shift with 0.9 FTE in a busy ED setting.

Qualifications

• ASN is required with BSN preferred.
• Current California RN license.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per AHA standards.
• 12+ months RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Pharmacology and EKG test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessment and document findings.
• Develop and implement a plan of care based on assessment.
• Collaborate with physicians and health-team members on the plan of care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Act as preceptor/charge nurse as assigned and participate in departmental goals.
