Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. The role provides professional nursing care in the ED, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 2 years ED experience required.
• Current RN license within the state of practice.
• Current BCLS Certification.
• ACLS within six months of hire.
• PALS within six months of hire.
• ENPC and TNCC optional.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department and coordinates with physicians and nursing staff to deliver timely treatment.
• Performs head-to-toe assessments and ongoing patient monitoring for diverse age groups (pediatric to geriatric).
• Assesses and manages pain, educates patients and families on pain control strategies.
• Applies triage processes to ensure efficient, safe patient flow and appropriate prioritization of care.
