Responsibilities

• Cares for patients as delegated by the registered nurse and completes activities of daily living.
• Takes and records vital signs; reports unusual observations to the nurse.
• Collects specimens for analysis and measures intake/output.
• Assists with meals and nutrition; sets up meal trays and feeds patients as required.
• Follows department procedures for access to medications, IV solutions, vaccines when applicable.
• Maintains safety and infection control practices; participates in safety interventions.
