Qualifications

  • BSN required.
  • Current California RN license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire.
  • Two to five years of acute care RN experience.
  • Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred (required for PACU candidates).
  • RNC specialty certification preferred.
  • Ability to meet CN III requirements within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support nursing staff during assigned shifts to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinate staffing assignments, patient flow, and daily unit operations.
  • Serve as a clinical expert, mentor, and resource for nurses and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Promote Relationship-Based Care and champion an exceptional patient experience.
  • Round on patients and families, addressing concerns and communicating care plans effectively.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and ancillary departments to optimize patient throughput.
  • Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges while supporting hospital capacity initiatives.
  • Lead shift huddles and participate in bed management and unit-based meetings.
  • Monitor compliance with clinical documentation, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
  • Assist with staff development, performance feedback, and clinical orientation for new team members.
  • Serve as a leader during emergencies with sound clinical judgment and hospital chain-of-command processes.
