Job summary

Mimbres Valley Medical Center is seeking a Director of the Emergency Department to coordinate nursing activities according to current standards and regulatory requirements. The role includes budget development, policy revision, and quality improvement, with staff management and interdepartmental liaison.

The position also serves as Nurse Administrator on-call, providing leadership during off-hours and ensuring core measures and standards are met across stroke, sepsis, and chest pain care

Qualifications

• Desirable: 5 years RN experience, 2 years in critical care and 2 years in a leadership role.
• Must follow directions and perform work to department standards.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span and how to assess data for patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct Nursing activities in accordance with current standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop capital and operating budgets, policies, and quality improvement.
• Manage personnel and staff development.
• Act as liaison between ED, physicians and other departments; participate in hospital committees.
