Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore is seeking a Unit Associate I for the Emergency Department. The role supports safe and efficient patient care by stocking Pyxis and supply carts, monitoring expirations, and keeping rooms stocked.

It requires collaboration with nurses and the Unit Coordinator in a fast-paced hospital setting. Applicants should have a high school diploma, strong communication, and familiarity with hospital equipment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/ urgent situations and to follow established procedures
  • Knowledge of hospital equipment, supplied and procedures (highly preferred)
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors and other hospital employees
  • General office, communication equipment, cleaning equipment, knowledge of keyboarding and basic Windows applications.

Responsibilities

  • Stock items to Pyxis and supply carts and monitor expiration dates.
  • Ensure patient rooms are stocked with supplies and linens.
  • Restock supply rooms and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with Nurses and the Unit Coordinator on daily tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
