Job summary

Navicent Health Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department triage clinician to assess patients and coordinate initial care in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires licensure as Paramedic, EMT, or LPN with BLS/CPR, strong communication, and the ability to manage high-stress situations. 0.9 FTE (7a–7p) with 36 hours/week, benefits eligible, and a pay range of $21.85–$32.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduate of paramedic/EMT/LPN program.
• Certification: Licensed in the state as Paramedic, EMT or LPN.
• Experience: Prior field or hospital experience as LPN/Paramedic/EMT.
• Knowledge/Abilities: CPR, medical terminology, safety procedures, and PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and families, recognizing age-specific emergencies.
• Respond in emergencies to patients at outside entrance of ED.
• Prioritize critical patients and initiate interventions before triage.
• Document rechecks and maintain clear patient status updates.
• Demonstrate effective communication with team and families.
• Transport patients and assist flow through triage when needed.
• Maintain supplies, equipment and unit cleanliness.
