Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking qualified Emergency Department staff at Danbury Hospital to assist with patient care under RN/ED providers. The role includes preparing exam areas, performing phlebotomy, EKGs, vitals, and patient transport, while ensuring clear communication and throughput in a busy ED environment.

Required EMT or Medical Assistant certification with CPR; minimum one year ED experience preferred. The position is on-site with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• EMT or Medical Assistant certification or nursing student status; CPR required.
• Minimum 1 year of ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the ED treatment area, stocking, and supplies.
• Prepare patients for exam, position for comfort, monitor and assist with devices.
• Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, bladder scans, blood glucose, and other procedures as trained.
• Transport patients to testing and in-patient units and document care interactions.
• Communicate with RN/ED providers about patient status and ensure timely through-put.
