Job summary

Qualifications

• Six months of related experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Medical Assistant with certification as specified by the Medical Board of California, or equivalent (e.g. military experience) or completion of an ED/UCC externship.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification per California requirements; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists in examination and treatment under direct supervision.
• Documents patient care and maintains confidentiality.
• Obtains and reports vital signs, ECGs, heights and weights.
• Draws blood and assists with various procedures.
• Maintains infection control and safety practices.
