Job summary

McLaren Health in Michigan is seeking an Emergency Department Aide to assist nursing and medical staff with patient care and clerical tasks under direct supervision.

You will perform care activities, handle specimen transport, assist with admissions/discharges, monitor patients, and contribute to documentation and room turnover. Six months of patient care experience and an EMT/MA/CNA/BLS certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months patient care experience in a health care delivery setting.
• Certification as an EMT, paramedic, MA, or CNA.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care, assisting nursing and physician staff with patient care procedures.
• Inventsories and restocks emergency department equipment.
• Collects and transports specimens such as urine, blood, and cultures.
• Assists with the admission and discharge of patients, initiates and discontinues IV lines, cleans and preps examination rooms between patients.
• Places patients on monitors, provides wound care, assists with orthopedic procedures and other emergency room procedures as requested.
• Reports and records observations in the patient medical record.
• Reports patient care needs and changes in condition to the nursing staff.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• 7.Reports patient care needs and changes in condition to the nursing staff.
• 8.Performs all other duties as assigned
