Job summary
Sentara Health is seeking a qualified Emergency Department Technician for on-site work at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. The role supports physicians and nurses in delivering care during emergency and minor emergency cases, with a mid shift from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM and a full-time schedule.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, EMT-B certification or equivalent, and ongoing clinical program involvement.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire or equivalent.
- US Military Hospital Corps School or qualified MMAC candidates.
- Current student enrolled in clinical program having completed at least one semester.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians, advanced practitioners or nurses in implementing plans of care for emergency patients.
- Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
- Provide de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
- Maintain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
