Job summary

McLeod Health in Manning, SC is seeking a caregiver who will work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to support patient care tasks. Responsibilities include taking vitals, wound care, and assisting with procedures as directed, while maintaining a clean and organized unit and providing compassionate service to patients and families.

The role also covers patient transport within hospital areas, hygiene maintenance, and supporting nutritional/hydration needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy, CNA, or EMT certification, or 1-year clinical experience.
• CPI certification within 6 months of hire.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse, assist in meeting the patients’ needs for treatment including taking vitals, cleaning wounds, and assisting with surgical procedures as required by the physician or nurse.
• Support the smooth operation of the department by performing tasks related to general unit organization, maintaining supplies, and clerical duties as needed.
• Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, and visitors.
• Assist with transportation of patients in and out of the ICU, ED, to Radiology, and admission transport to the patient’s room.
• Initiate and maintain hygiene/cleanliness of the patients, the patient’s environment, and the unit environment.
• Perform or assist with nutritional/hydration interventions (feeding, fluids, snacks).
• May be floated to other hospital departments as needed.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education
