Job summary

Bon Secours Harbour View Medical Center is seeking an ED Tech to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or healthcare professional. The role supports patient comfort, vital signs, lab draws, ECGs, wound care, and unit-based duties while ensuring safety and accuracy in documentation.

Responsibilities include patient rounding, 1:1 safety, acting as a liaison between patients and nurses, and assisting with handoffs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care.
• Current certification for EMR/EMT/EMS or Medical Assisting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN guidance and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies.
• Perform patient care tasks including vital signs, basic hygiene, mobility assistance, and data collection.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in handoffs.
• Support patient safety and quality initiatives and communicate changes to the nursing team.
• Demonstrate ability to work under stress and resolve conflicts while delivering compassionate care.
