Job summary

Banner Health's Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, AZ is seeking an ED Tech to support the Emergency Department team with patient care and procedures under supervision. The role involves assisting nurses and physicians, preparing patients and equipment, and performing basic bedside tasks within scope of training.

Shifts are 6pm-6:30am or 6am-6:30pm across three shifts per week, with weekends/holidays rotating.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required; BLS certification.
• EMT-B or higher with state licensure; CNA in state of practice may be required.
• Effective communication and strong problem-solving abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, perform procedures including ECG testing, wound cleansing, vital sign measurements, specimen collection, and patient transports.
• Where permitted by state statute, perform blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, IV care per guidelines.
• Assist with exams and minor procedures such as lumbar punctures, suturing, chest tube insertion, immobilization under physician direction.
• Document vitals, procedures, and patient condition in the medical record; communicate with the care team.
• Monitor supply stock levels and coordinate with departments to maintain equipment and a safe environment.
• Attend department meetings and assist in orienting and training new ED Technicians.
