Job summary

The Emergency Department Technician II reports to the Nurse Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician III performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.

Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience in a health care environment or EMT certification; high school diploma required; BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred experience as Patient Care Tech, nursing assistant, or nursing student with clinical hands-on training.
• Experience: 1 year of patient care in healthcare; EMT certification acceptable.
• Pass online modules (phlebotomy, advanced skills, EKG) with 80% on two attempts; training completion within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Support a decentralized patient-centered approach under RN supervision.
• Perform multi-skilled activities to assist in patient care.
• Participate in unit-specific training and competency demonstrations within 6 months.
