Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support emergency care under nursing supervision. The role involves basic patient care, data collection, and assisting with clinical tasks in a fast-paced ED.

The incumbent will perform phlebotomy, transport patients, and assist with education and family support while coordinating with nurses, physicians, and the broader healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1 year of experience preferred.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within 30 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care duties and data collection.
• Recognizes abnormal data and reports promptly.
• Provides direct technical care and assists with mobility and daily needs.
• Performs phlebotomy and handles lab specimens.
• Transports patients within the department.
• Educates patients and families and responds to concerns.
• Coordinates clinical tasks and communicates with care team.
