Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking an Emergency Department Technician II for our Level III Trauma ED in Orangeburg, SC. The role requires CNA or EMT certification and phlebotomy certification; BLS is required.

Under RN supervision, you will take vital signs and EKGs, monitor telemetry, collect specimens, transport patients, and assist with procedures. This PRN position involves exposure to emergencies and variable shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • EMT or CNA certification required.
  • Phlebotomy certification required for ED tech II.
  • Current AHA BLS or ARC BLS certification required.
  • Some medical setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Takes vital signs, height and weight.
  • Performs EKGs.
  • Assist physicians or nurses on procedures.
  • Monitors telemetry patients.
  • Collects specimens.
  • Crutch training.
  • Assist with ordering supplies.
  • May perform bladder scans and insert Foley catheters.
  • Transport patients.
