Job summary

The Emergency Department Technician II at Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care in a busy ED. You will perform multi-skilled tasks and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to support safe, effective care.

Education includes a high school diploma, and BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in a .6fte ED Technician I position at MUSC or as CNA, EMT, CMA, Paramedic, CPT, or military medical occupation.
• Current BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire.
• RN licensure by SC Board of Nursing or compact state is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Lead and direct other team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to ensure age-appropriate, patient-centered care.
