Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Lancaster Main Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist the RN in delivering patient care in a fast-paced ED. You will prepare patients for exam, support procedures, and ensure safety and comfort while adhering to infection control and hospital policies.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, CPR certification, and PA clearances, with preferred experience in phlebotomy and EKG, and basic computer data entry skills. Training opportunities available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Previous training or experience in a healthcare setting.
• Basic computer skills with ability to complete data entry on clinical documentation screens.
• CPR certification.
• ACT 73 - PA State Clearances.

Responsibilities

• Provides age appropriate care for the patient population served.
• Assists with patient care by preparing patients for exam and treatment.
• Integrates infection control practices into practice.
• Stocks patient rooms with supplies and removes outdated items.
• Sets up equipment and procedure trays to assist physicians and staff for procedures.
• Responds to Trauma, Stroke, and Code R activations to assist with patient care.
• Bathes patients and assists with hygiene; changes incontinent patients promptly.
