Job summary

Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL is seeking an ED Tech for its Emergency Department. The role supports nursing and physicians in patient care during the day shift (7:00 am–7:00 pm) with a 36-hour work week and rotating weekends and holidays.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of hospital patient care experience, CNA or nursing school rotations, and CPR certification. The position offers full-time employment with benefits.

Qualifications

• 2-3 yrs hospital patient care or pre-hospital patient care experience or completion of 1 yr nursing school clinical rotations or Certified Nursing Assistant
• CPR certification required
• Ability to move / lift patients and push carts

Responsibilities

• EMT-Ps licensed by IDPH may complete the house wide competency to start IVs, saline locks, and administer IV fluids.
• Assist nursing and physicians to perform invasive procedures such as advanced airway and central line insertion.
• Bedside monitor application and lead placement, 12-lead EKGs, phlebotomy, and related patient care tasks.
• Document interventions in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with restraints and monitoring behavioral health patients per policy.
• Report concerns regarding patient status to nursing and medical staff.
• Deliver direct patient care as directed by nursing/medical staff and maintain supplies/equipment.
• Complete patient rounds hourly and communicate needs for service recovery.
• Transport patients, supplies and equipment interdepartmentally as needed.
