Job summary

Grand Itasca is hiring an Emergency Department Tech for a part-time (.75-.9 FTE) position in the Emergency Department. The role involves direct patient care, clerical tasks, and coordination with the nursing team, with 12-hour day/night rotations and every 3rd weekend.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Nursing Aide or EMT program with certification or current listing on Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry or NREMT/MN EMSRB preferred.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire and maintain certification.
• Experience in ambulatory or inpatient health care setting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital Mission, Values, Vision and policies.
• Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, visitors, coworkers and other departmental representatives.
• Answer patients' call lights and direct all phone calls promptly; communicate and complete needed patient intervention.
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational information at all times.
• Obtain signatures and place identification on patients.
• Maintain and order unit supplies and stock items.
• Assemble and disassemble patient charts.
• Assist in delivering patient care including transfers, ambulation, feeding, dressing, bathing, weighing, and toileting.
• Participate in hourly rounding.
• Report significant events to the RN promptly.
• Apply monitors and report to RN on effectiveness of safety devices and mobility alarms.
• Disinfect equipment and keep unit clean and organized.
