Job summary

US Acute Care Solutions seeks an ED Scribe to assist the ED provider with complete documentation in the EMR and to facilitate patient flow at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, AL. The scribe will document histories, exams, procedures, and test results, relay information to the provider, and ensure medical records are completed at the end of each shift.

Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM. The role requires typing at least 50 wpm, medical terminology knowledge, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1-3 years of medical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Strong computer skills and typing speed.

Responsibilities

• Review scribe data comprehensively with the ED provider.
• Document history and physical exam as the provider performs them and relay to the Scribe.
• Document procedure and treatment notes contemporaneously performed and as the provider dictates.
• Check the progress of CT, ultrasound, laboratory, and other ancillary test results and hand them to the provider for review.
• Transcribe results of CT/ultrasound/lab tests after review by the provider.
• Conduct a comprehensive review of scribe data entry to ensure records are completed at end of shift.
• Scribe reports directly to Lead Scribe and/or Facility Medical Director.
