Job summary

Los Angeles Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse. You will respond rapidly to life-threatening, emergent, or urgent conditions, provide monitoring and advanced nursing care, and collaborate with physicians and staff to develop individualized care plans for acutely ill patients.

The role requires California RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and ED experience or ED training including EMTALA/ESI.

Qualifications

Active, current, and unencumbered California RN license.
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
One year ED nursing experience or completion of ED training including EMTALA/ESI 5 within six months.
De-escalation certification on hire; SAMA certification upon recertification.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt response and treatment for life-threatening, emergent, or urgent cases in the Emergency Department.
Monitor and operate monitoring and therapeutic equipment for acute/complex patients.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and coordinate care.
Reassess patient status and adjust care plan; prepare for discharge when appropriate.
Serve as a mentor to new graduates and staff.
