Job summary

Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA, is seeking a dedicated registered nurse for the Emergency Department. The role involves direct and indirect patient care, following established protocols and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• AS in nursing is required.
• BS in nursing preferred.
• 3-5 years ED experience preferred.
• Registered Nurse with MA license.
• ACLS on hire or BLS + ACLS within 60 days.
• PALS within six months; TNCC, ENPC and CEN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and reevaluates nursing interventions and patient goals.
• Provides care per standards, policies, and procedures.
• Performs timely documentation and reporting to care team.
• Provides patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Safely administers medications and IV therapies per orders.
• Maintains safety and responds to emergencies with appropriate actions.
• Delegates tasks and ensures continuity of care.
