Job summary

Kirby Medical Center in Monticello, IL is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on the 3rd shift. The 8-bed Critical Access ED provides care to our rural population and offers a dynamic, high‑acuity environment with 24‑hour security.

Responsibilities include rapid triage, medication administration, and accurate documentation while collaborating with ED providers. IL RN licensure and current BLS/ACLS/PALS are required or obtainable within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Illinois RN licensure in good standing is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS and PALS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• 1 year of Emergency Department nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Able to work well under high stress, high acuity and make quick decisions as part of a team to save lives
• Rapidly triage patients, prioritize care, and deliver immediate interventions
• Safely administer medications and efficiently stabilize patients for ongoing treatment
• Provide hands on patient care to patients of all ages
• Work closely and communicate well with Emergency Department provider
• Maintain accurate and continued documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments and responses and assessment of changes
• Track patient vitals, adjust treatment plans based on response
• Participate as a member of the Campus Response Team
