Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department, full-time nights. You will deliver professional nursing care per physician plans, assess needs, implement treatment plans, and collaborate with the health team to support patients and families.

The role includes directing the nursing team, contributing to orientation of new staff, and ensuring efficient patient flow while maintaining safety and quality care standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program completed and NYS RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (AHA) preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with patient, family and providers.
• Perform initial assessment based on presentation.
• Document nursing assessments in the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust plan of care as needed.
• Coordinate discharge planning and aftercare with team.
• Use evidence-based practices to ensure patient safety and comfort.
