The successful candidate will perform initial assessments, document observations, participate in discharge planning, and guide staff.

Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program with NYS RN license.
• BLS; ACLS; PALS as required for ED roles.
• Ability to communicate clearly; culturally competent care.

Responsibilities

• The RN collects patient health data with patient/family and healthcare providers.
• Performs initial assessment based on patient presentation.
• Documents the nursing assessment in the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment.
• Provides age- and culture-appropriate care and discharge planning.
• Collaborates with the health care team to develop and implement the plan of care.
• Directs and supports nursing staff; participates in orientation of new staff.
