Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on an in-house in-house registry with rotating shifts at Kishwaukee Hospital. The role requires a BSN, IL RN license, BLS, and ER-specific certifications as needed.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for acutely ill patients, coordinating with the health team while adhering to ethics and compliance standards. You will participate in governance, document care plans, and leverage evidence to guide

Qualifications

• BSN required; IL RN license must be active.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association BLS certification mandatory.
• ACLS, PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year of hire.
• Preferred: Trauma Nurse Specialist or similar ER certifications.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Directs care and determines the appropriate use of any nursing assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and communication.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions and updates the plan of care accordingly.
• Utilizes current evidence, including research findings, to guide practice decisions.
