Job summary

UofL Health at Medical Center Southwest in Louisville is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) to deliver comprehensive care across age groups, guided by the nursing process and safety standards. Under supervision of a clinical nurse manager, you will assess patients, administer medications, coordinate with care teams, and support families throughout the admission to discharge process.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and active Kentucky RN licensure.
• BSN degree preferred; nurses encouraged to pursue BSN within specified timeframe.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required for certain units.

Responsibilities

• Conducts systematic assessments of patient health status from admission to discharge.
• Administers medications per licensure and documents administration timely.
• Plans and adapts individualized care plans with the care team for optimal outcomes.
• Educates patients and families, prepares for discharge, and supports safe transitions.
