Job summary

Monroe Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks an Emergency Services Registered Nurse for a 13-week temporary assignment. The RN will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the Emergency Department.

The ideal candidate holds an active Indiana RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC and at least one year of ER experience; BSN and CEN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• MICN within 12 months of hire for Paramedic Base Station ED; EDAP cert facilities: completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months; NRP cert 90 days; TNNC within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel in Telemetry.
• Directly responsible and accountable for care in the Emergency Department.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition and test results.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Complies with EMTALA regulations and reporting requirements.
