Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The RN will provide urgent and emergent care to patients with acute and chronic medical, surgical, and psychiatric conditions, including stabilization and life support when needed.

The role requires state licensure, English language proficiency, and graduation from an ACEN/CCNE-accredited program.

Qualifications

English proficiency required by VA standards.
Graduate of an ACEN/CCNE accredited nursing program or equivalent.
Current, full, active RN license in the United States.
Foreign education evaluation accepted if applicable.
State licensure must be valid to practice nursing.
Nurse licensure requirements per VA Handbook 5005.

Responsibilities

Collaborates in development, implementation, evaluation of policies and guidelines.
Provides urgent and emergent care to patients with acute and/or chronic conditions.
Offers professional feedback to peers for quality care improvements.
Supports colleagues through knowledge sharing to ensure safe patient care.
Maintains a safe environment conducive to professional development.
Monitors and documents outcomes for individuals and groups.
