Job summary

The ED RN will lead urgent and emergent care, manage patients with acute and chronic conditions, and provide high-quality life-saving interventions from stabilization to resuscitation. Ideal candidates hold an unrestricted RN license, with BSN or MSN preferred, and are prepared to meet VA standards including licensure verification and potential foreign degree

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved nursing program with current unrestricted RN licensure.
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred; ED experience highly desirable.
• Foreign nursing graduates may require degree equivalency validation per VA standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates in development, implementation, evaluation and revision of policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Provides urgent and emergent care to patients with acute and/or chronic conditions.
• Documents outcomes at the program or service level and assesses patients using triage systems.
• Mentors and supports colleagues to ensure safe, quality nursing care and professional development.
• Demonstrates leadership and contributes to a safe, patient-centered ED environment.
