Job summary

Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our ED/acute care team. This full-time, on-site role offers rotating day, evening, and night shifts, with possible straight nights and every-other-weekend requirements.

Hiring at $19.94–$25.00 per hour, based on experience, plus comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities include providing basic patient care with clinical competence and supporting Registered Nurses with patient care tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification required.
• One year experience as CNA, EMT, nursing student or similar.
• Phlebotomy and/or EKG experience preferred.
• Experience with computer order entry.

Responsibilities

• Be self directed and quickly able to adapt to variable patient care conditions and volume levels in the ED.

Required Job Specific Competencies:

• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and exhibit flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments
• Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with the ED medical and nursing staff as well as other areas within the facility.
• Actively guard the confidentiality of sensitive info including but not limited to the patients, staff& the health system.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.

Qualifications:

• Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required – BLS Certification
• One year experience as CNA, EMT, nursing student or other suitable experience
• Preferred – Experience performing phlebotomy and/or EKGs highly desirable.
• Experience with computer order entry.

Pay Range: $19.94 -$25.00
