Job summary

Mercy Ada is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support the Emergency Department team. Under RN or LPN supervision, you will assist with patient care, comfort, and safety, and collaborate with nurses and providers to deliver compassionate service.

Responsibilities include vital signs, documentation in the EMR, admissions/discharges, and helping maintain a clean, organized ED environment. This role offers hands-on patient care experience in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily care activities, hygiene, mobility, and comfort needs.
• Obtain and document vital signs and other patient information in the EMR.
• Observe patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the nursing team.
• Support admissions, discharges, and patient transfers.
• Assist with specimen collection and point-of-care testing as appropriate.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment.
• Provide clerical and customer service support, including answering phones and responding to patient needs.
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and other healthcare team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
