Job summary

Mercy Ada is hiring a Patient Care Associate (PCA) for the Emergency Department. The role supports nurses and healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time daytime position features three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. As a PCA, you’ll assist with daily care, monitor vital signs, document in the EMR, and help with admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining safety and patient comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily care activities, hygiene, mobility, and comfort needs.
• Obtain and document vital signs in the EMR.
• Observe patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the nursing team.
• Support admissions, discharges, and patient transfers.
• Assist with specimen collection and point-of-care testing as appropriate.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment.
• Provide clerical and customer service support, including answering phones and responding to patient needs.
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and other healthcare team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
