The position emphasizes accuracy in data entry, insurance verification, and scheduling, with a 40-hour workweek and an evening schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prefer completion of an accredited medical administrative assisting program and previous experience in a medical office.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures; maintain data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Maintains compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintains compliance with revenue cycle and financial audit guidelines.
• Demonstrates effective computer skills, files, answers phones promptly, and provides accurate information.
• Accurately performs patient check in and check out, processes insurance verification and authorizations, codes visits with ICD/CPT, balances receipts, and handles billing questions.
• Schedules patient appointments with required demographic and clinical data and coordinates with other parties.
• Orders and maintains clinical and office supplies and equipment.
• Ensures HIPAA, OSHA, and infection prevention compliance; participates in unit improvement activities.
• Exhibits strong customer service and teamwork when interacting with patients, families, and staff.
