Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Emergency Department at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. The role supports RN staff by delivering basic patient care, monitoring vital signs and assisting with activities of daily living.

Successful candidates will have nursing aide training (or STNA/CNA) and EPIC EHR familiarity, with strong communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a busy ED environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide basic patient care and support under RN guidance.
• Strong communication with patients, families and staff.
• Proactive, adaptable in a fast-paced ED environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and conditions.
• Serve as liaison between patient and nurse, reporting changes promptly.
• Perform delegated tasks after competency validation.
• Maintain patient room sanitation and comfort.
