Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech for the Emergency Department at Skokie Hospital. This full-time position is 36 hours per week, with a day shift from 7 am to 7:30 pm and rotating weekends/holidays.

The role requires CNA training (preferred), completion of nursing rotations, and a current BLS certification. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and basic computer proficiency to support patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred
• Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association If BLS certification is not current or does not have certification, required to be obtained within the employee's introductory period (within 90 days of hire date)

Responsibilities

• Flow of work and character of duties involves normal mental, visual, auditory attention much or all of the time with manual dexterity is required for sustained periods of time.
• Requires visual acuity adequate to assess patients and read/record patient charts.
• Requires auditory acuity adequate to converse with patients, members of the healthcare team and coworkers who are wearing masks.
• Potential for exposure to blood, body fluids and other potentially infectious materials, chemicals and other hazardous conditions which may pose a health risk.
• Able to work under pressure to meet patient care needs.
• When in the clinical environment, must utilize appropriate patient movement equipment for patient-lifting and transfers when the transfer is a non-emergency situation.
• In an urgent event, may need to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.
• When applicable, wear an N95 mask/PAPR and other PPE.
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting throughout the shift.
