Job summary

Endeavor Health in Skokie, IL seeks a Patient Care Tech for the Emergency Department on days. The role is full-time, 36 hours weekly, with day shifts from 7am to 7:30pm and rotating weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities include managing workflow, patient assessments, chart reviews, and collaboration with the care team. Requires US work eligibility and preferably CNA training with BLS certification, plus strong interpersonal skills and basic computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US.
• Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred.
• Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association). If not current, obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and prioritization; ability to follow directions.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee flow of work and duties with attention to mental, visual and auditory demands.
• Assess patients and read/record patient charts with adequate visual acuity.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare team while wearing masks to protect others.
• Recognize and manage potential exposure to blood, body fluids and hazardous materials.
• Work under pressure to meet patient care needs.
• Utilize patient movement equipment for non-emergency transfers.
• Assist with lifting up to 50 pounds in urgent events.
• Wear an N95 mask/PAPR and other PPE when applicable.
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting during shift.
