Job summary

Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, West Virginia, seeks a patient care tech for the 7p-7a shift to assist with basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role supports high-quality patient care and coordination with licensed medical staff.

Requires a High School Diploma and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Prior EMS or Emergency Department experience is preferred to enhance patient throughput and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Observes and reports patient concerns/changes to a nurse immediately.
  • Assists the RN with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
  • Records vital signs and assists in hygiene and comfort measures.
  • Records oral intake and outputs (temperature, blood pressure, etc.).
  • Assists in specimen collection and other patient care activities.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infections and ensure safety.
  • Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
  • Communicates nutrition issues to RN when needed.
  • Assists department with administrative tasks to support operations.
  • Answers patient call bell and relays messages to appropriate personnel.

Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to departmental procedure.8. Communicates with RN regarding any nutrition issues, such as poor appetite or verbalized lack of understanding of diet changes.10. Assists department with administrative tasks to support the department operations.11.
