Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an Emergency Department Paramedic in Augusta, GA. Reports to the Manager of the Emergency Department. The paramedic collaborates with physicians, RNs, and the care team to provide high-quality, safe patient care in a busy ED.

Qualifications

• Georgia paramedic license and national registry certification required.
• Completion of accredited paramedic program with clinical hours.
• Minimum 2 years paramedic experience in field or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical and nursing staff with the care and treatment of Emergency patients.
• Assist in intake by greeting and interviewing patients and inputting pertinent medical information.
• Perform and assist with diagnostic testing such as EKG, cardiac monitoring, venipuncture, point-of-care testing, wound care, splints/casts.
• Perform functions delegated by RN such as initiating IV, administering medications, glucose monitoring, ISTAT testing.
• Transport patients to ICU and monitor critical patients; support ED patient flow and trauma/stemI alerts.
