Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Department Paramedic for day shifts in Georgia. The role supports physicians, RNs and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, safe patient care in a hospital ED.

The paramedic will follow Georgia Scope of Practice and Wellstar policies, possess a Georgia paramedic license and national registry certification, and contribute to patient education and efficient ED operation.

Qualifications

• Georgia paramedic license and national registry certification required.
• Experience assisting in emergency department care is preferred.
• Ability to input medical information into computer systems accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical and nursing staff in Emergency Department patient care.
• Greet patients, interview, and document medical information.
• Perform EKGs, monitor cardiac status, venipuncture, and point-of-care testing.
• Initiate IVs and administer select medications as directed.
• Transport patients to ICU and monitor critical patients.
• Support education for patients and families; respond to trauma alerts and emergencies.
