Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an Emergency Department Paramedic in Augusta, GA to join an interdisciplinary team providing high-quality, safe patient care. You will support physicians, RNs and EMS in a busy ED, participate in triage, and ensure accurate documentation and care delivery.

Requirements include completion of an accredited paramedic program, a Georgia paramedic license with national registry, and minimum 2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited paramedic program with clinical hours.
• Minimum 2 years of field or hospital paramedic experience.
• Georgia paramedic license and national registry certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical and nursing staff with care and treatment in the ED.
• Greet patients and input pertinent medical information into the computer system.
• Perform or assist with EKG, cardiac monitoring, venipuncture, point-of-care testing, wound care, and splinting.
• Initiate IV, administer medications (oral, IM, some IV) per RN directions.
• Transport patients to the ICU and monitor critical patients.
• Assist with patient flow and respond to trauma alerts and STEMI activations.
• Receive EMS patients into ED and aid in initial triage and assessment.
• Educate patients and families about care plans.
